Nrc.next column on a World of Warcraft and US politics

While I was roadtripping through Maine (USA) a story broke about a US state senate candidate who was attacked by her GOP opponents for, of all things, playing World of Warcraft. Colleen Lachowicz, 48 years old, lives in Waterville and my column for nrc.next discusses her somewhat incredible story. In her own words: “I think it’s weird that I’m being targeted for playing online games. Apparently I’m in good company since there are 183 million other Americans who also enjoy online games. What’s next? Will I be ostracized for playing Angry Birds or Words with Friends? If so, guilty as charged!”

Voor de Republikeinen in Waterville mag de wereld ophouden bij de gemeentegrenzen, de wereld van Warcraft strekt tot ver daarbuiten.
