Book review of Digital Play (Dutch)

For the University of Amsterdam Humanities’ faculty newsletter I was asked to reread an academic book that has been a “revelation” (openbaring) to me. I chose Stephen Kline et al.’s Digital Play: The Interaction of Technology, Culture, and Marketing published in 2003. It was one of the first books I read on games that really struck a chord with me. Sure, there were plenty of academic books before, but none of them included a comprehensive political economic take on the game industry. Kline and his colleagues did, and in a way I’m eternally grateful they did. Read my rereading in Dutch below.
