column on the direction of the Dutch game industry


The Dutch game industry is doing quite well, but at the same time it is a very diverse ecosystem with small and big studios developing all kinds of games (as well as offering game-related services). It might be smart for policy makers to make decisions what kind of industry “we” want to be. That is, to make hard choices what would the best for for the Dutch industry on the long term. My column offers some suggestions.

Mijn kandidaten zijn: serious games, omdat die sector al bloeit en er hoogwaardige kennis voor nodig is. Mobiele games, vanwege het enorme groeipotentieel. En artistieke, onafhankelijke producties, omdat die garant staan voor de broodnodige innovative.
